The Many Faces of ME!

My Mommy loves to take photos of me. So whether I am in the mood or not, she would aim the camera at me whenever she feels like it. It is no wonder that our hard drive is now almost filled with photos. Although the subjects vary, I must say that about 75% have me in it. If Mommy is not aiming the camera at flowers, landscapes or anything that catches her fancy, she would aim it at me, whether I am dressed or not.

There was this one time when I just felt like posing in front of the camera and Mommy took the chance. I think I was pretending to be a princess in the following photos because I have on my "gold" headband. I always say "prinzensem" (prinzessin in German means princess) if I want to put it on because for me, it is like a crown that you put on your head. And most princesses have these tiny crowns on, right?

And I also noticed that my hair is already very long here. Even my Mommy and noticed it so that you probably know what happened next! Yes, Mommy cut my hair. She was initially on just trimming a few centimeters of hair but because I wouldn't stay put in my chair, my hair is now short, ear-length almost. Will try to post photos next time!

Where Are My Books?

We moved into our new apartment early last month. You might wonder if we have already settled in or not. Well, there are still a lot of boxes that need to be unpacked and furniture that need to be purchased. My Mommy and Daddy are not in a hurry though. We are just taking things one step at a time, prioritizing things, purchasing what needs to be purchased first.

One of our first purchases are bookshelves. Mommy and Daddy need to organize their office stuff and important documents and they can't find their files easily if they are stored in boxes... therefore, the need for bookshelves.  We got them from Ikea and after Mommy assembled them, we went to work. I was also beginning to miss my books so that seeing them once again made me so happy. I even volunteered, er insisted, that I place my books on the bookshelves myself. I still may not be very good at arranging and organizing my stuff but I am getting there. With practice, I know I will get better at cleaning after my own mess, being able to help my Mommy along the way.

Tick Tock Tick Tock Says the Clock

I have always been fascinated by cuckoo clocks and grandfather clocks. I would instantly say tick tock tick tock whenever I see one. It doesn't matter if it's big or small, I know a howard miller grandfather clock when I see one.

There was one very old grandfather clock at our friend's house. Too bad it is not in its proper working condition. Madi's big brother Mark would gladly make it chime for me. I am one very easy person to entertain and amuse and Kuya Mark has always been around whenever Madi and her other girl friends go playing in their rooms.

There was this one time when we drove through the Black Forest in Germany and stopped for a rest. I saw these cuckoo clocks in various sizes and designs that I wanted to take one home. Mommy was quick to say no though, saying that it is too noisy. But noisy or not, these stuff are just great. I wish Mommy will me one, when I am already able to tell the time. The cuckoo sounds aren't that bad. And the tick-tock-tick-tock too. They are music to my ears.

Out With The Girlfriends

My parents enjoy attending Filipino community gatherings. It is their way of relaxing and catching up with friends. I enjoy it too because that means I can play longer with my girl friends. Some of my girl friends I have already featured here in my blog but there's more to tell.

Last July 30 was the Summer Party hosted by the Sto. Nino Group of Stuttgart-Rottenburg. It was a great day for us kids because it was a very fine day, and the means that we can play at the spielplatz just outside the event hall. 

Up and down we went... it was just the four of us. Who's missing? 

And so it was that me and my three other girl friends, (or should I call them my three big sisters?) namely Madelein, Carmina and Diana, enjoyed an afternoon playing at the swing, climbing and eating muffins.

Too bad Franciska, Diana's younger sister, wasn't there to play with us. She had fever due to the vaccination that she received that day and had to stay indoors with her Mom. It would have been more fun with her around.

Heidelberg and Me

We went to Heidelberg last September 4th for some sightseeing. It was a very fine day and although the air was a bit cold, it didn't bother us so much. Our first stop: the place where our national hero wrote the last chapters of his novel Noli Me Tangere. It was quite a long from Heidelberg city center, but it didn't matter because we drove all the way there. We were directed by our navigation to a residential area. There was nothing special though except for the fact that a street name was named after our national hero. And that is something that any Filipino would be proud of. 

After our brief visit, we went back to Heidelberg city center and visited the Heidelberg Castle. We got up though the Bergbahn (mountain train). History tells us that the castle was burned down three times and that plans to restore everything to its original grandeur were never carried out. There are a few areas of the castle though that have been restored and used as museums, shops and restaurant. 

From the castle, one can get a breathtaking view of the Altstadt below, with the Alte Brücke and the other old structures that make Heidelberg a very romantic and charming city.

I immensely enjoyed Heidelberg castle especially the bergbahn ride and the grounds. There was so much space to run around at the gardens and grounds without fearing of breaking anything.The giant wine barrel was also an interesting piece.

There was also a fireworks display that evening and we waited for night to come. We sat on the bank of the River Neckar and while waiting, enjoyed some of the picnic food that we brought with us. It was a very dramatic and awesome fireworks display. Before the actual fireworks, there was a re-enactment of the burning down of the castle and one would think that it was really on fire.

I wish we could visit Heidelberg this Autumn for the fall foliage. We saw lots of greenery when we visited and it would be interesting to see them in various shades of reds, orangers and yellows.

One Cold Day

I have been going to the Kindergarten for almost a month now and I can proudly say that I have made quite an achievement. I have learned how to place my name clip all by myself whenever we arrive at the Kindergarten. I now know the routine: After placing my name clip on the card, I would get off my jacket and outdoor shoes and wear my house shoes. And then the fun begins! 

But wait, there's more! I don't cry anymore when Mommy leaves me with my teachers and the other kids. I can now say goodbye to her, give her a hug and a wet kiss without any signs of crying. And Mommy is very happy about it because it means that she doesn't have to go home worried or sad. Ain't I such a good girl?

But what's with the get-up? Hihi! It is still of course September here but the days are always unusually cold so that Mommy would dress me up with warm clothes. The hat and the gloves were my own doing though. It was just a spur of the moment decision and Mommy found me so cute and irresistible that she took this photo!

The Little Koreana

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I updated my blog and my apologies if I haven't blogged much lately. There is just so much to do for this two and a half year old little girl this summer: traveling & sightseeing, playing, dancing and singing, visiting friends, and preparing to go to school that at the end of the day, I am already too exhausted.

I have gathered so many photos and videos lately that I have been wanting to share. Promise to post them in my future posts but for now, let me share with you some of my girly shots.

It was a fine Sunday and so Mommy had me wear this Barbie dress. It's a very comfy dress and had an open back so that it felt cool when worn. Mommy also had me wear a pony tail, but instead of tying it at the center, she tied it on the left side. I think it's the trend these days because I have seen other teenagers wear their hair like this one. To complete my girl look, I brought with me my pink Disney Princess purse and wore my pink arm band.

Photoshoot With Mommy

I was in the mood for posing and Mommy was in the mood for taking photos so we had some photo sessions a few nights ago. Notice the dress that I am wearing? It's now already a blouse because I have grown tall. Everyone was already asleep so that I had we took photos the whole night... well, not really the whole night. Just until I got tired of just sitting on my little basketball and got distracted by old Mickey Mouse cartoons on YouTube. Hihi! 

So, what do you think? Am I model material already or what?

Join Me For A Joyride!

I really enjoy going on road trips with my family. The green scenery, the traffic, the fresh air, the beautiful landscape and city scenes all make for an interesting ride. But there is another kind of ride that I really find very interesting and enjoyable. These rides are exclusively for kids, with lots of colorful cars in various shapes, sizes and colors, and it just goes round and round in circles, following a track. The place where these rides are available are usually packed with people, with lots of children running around and shouting cheerfully, and laughter and music and a dash of occasional shrieks here and there can be heard. Do you already know what I am talking about?

Oh yes, I am talking about the rides at an adventure or theme park or at a festival. It was my second time to visit the Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest but it was my first time to take the rides. And everything was so exciting! I loved every ride that I have been to and wouldn't even get off the car except when my Mommy or Daddy would physically remove me from the kiddie cars. That part is not fun though. Hehe!

Daddy said that he won't take me to the Frühlingsfest next year because it is too expensive, with me always wanting to try out the rides. Hmmm.. let's just see if he can resist. Hihi!

A Bunny Or Two For A Day

These are my furry friends for a day: two furry little bunnies. Aren't they cute? They look quite real, don't you think? At first, I was afraid to touch them and would keep a safe distance because they look strange to me. Then Mommy told me that they are Kaninchen (German word for rabbits or bunnies) and she even sang the song that I love so much that shows a Kaninchen in it. Then, I was no longer afraid.

These are no ordinary bunnies. They can walk and talk endlessly. They make pip-pip-pip sounds for a long time once you switch them on. They hop for a while and stop to make a pip-pip-pip sound and then hop again. They are such cute creatures because their long ears and tails also move while they walk. They also hop about and would come near you for a hug. They also feel soft to the touch and are great companions if you are just playing by yourself. Yes, these bunnies really make good company. Too bad I can only have these furry bunnies for a day because they are not mine... My Kuya Mevin generously shared them with me and let me play with them when we visited them in Switzerland. That was very great of him.

Having Fun at Killesberg

Pretty flowers... I wonder what they are called.

Killesberg is a very big park and is about a 10-minute ride from where we live. I love coming here because it allows me to get some fresh air, discover and feed animals, see flowers, enjoy a view of the city and have a great time meeting new friends and playing in the Spielplatz. We could also have a picnic at any spot we choose and savor the fine weather.

Killesberg is beautiful in spring. The tulips and many other flowers come to life at this time of the year. Things begin to turn green so that everything looks fresh. And I can also begin to play outdoors without catching a cold.

I love it when Daddy lets me ride on his shoulders.


Delighted to be out in the open field!

This summer would be a great time to visit Killesberg again. With the warm and hot days, the water playground will be open again to the children and Mommy and Daddy said that I could try it out when Lolo and Lola arrive on the third week. I will have to prepare my swim suits then. I wonder if they still fit... Hehe!
