No Longer A Girl, Not Yet A Lady

It has been a while since my last blog entry here. You must have all been wondering what I have been up to these days. Well, I am doing fine. I have grown tall in the last couple of years and have lots on my sleeve.

I moved to a new school, so it meant new school environment, new classmates and teachers. I was lucky enough that I have classmates who were from my old school, so I actually did not feel lonely on the first day of school, which by the way started in September last year. Wow, it felt like it was such a long time ago!

It is more challenging now that I have moved to a secondary school because there are more subjects taught but I still get to do some curricular activities at school in the afternoons. I stopped doing ballet though, but for that, I have tennis and self-defense instead. I enjoy it a lot despite the muscle cramps since I love sports. But I do miss dancing... maybe I will look for a dancing school if my schedule permits it.

My Mom and I still do some crafts every now and then, but she mostly lets me do the crafting myself.  I miss doing it with her though but this tradition we shall keep.  I can still remember when we did the DIY baptism favors for her godson or those soft felt owls we made together with my friend when she came over. I am into origami lately or anything that has to do with paper. In fact, I made a photo frame from waste cardboard material as a gift to my twin friends.

So much has changed in the last couple of years but I am still that little girl who loves to read, enjoys being with family and friends, and is always thankful for everything that I have right now. Oh, and did I mention that I got a dog for my 10th birthday? There really is so much catching up to do, I know. I shall tell you all about my dog and so much more in my upcoming posts so please stay tuned!

Thank you for dropping by. Till then!

Discovering Ballet and Loving It!

It'e been four months since we arrived in my parent's home country and I can say that I'm really enjoying my stay here so far. Ballet is what's keeping me busy now that school is over (school here officially ends in March).

I am now having my summer ballet workshop three times a week, and acting and voice classes twice a week at LCB Performing Arts Center Foundation Inc. Their dance studios are located at 48 Villamor Street, Barrio Obrero, Davao City. We are now practicing our ballet recital piece for the upcoming show in May 19, which is entitled Broadway Musical Montage. I am also learning some songs from the musical Annie which we will sing during the show in May. Although my english is not yet so good, I am able to memorize the words since my mommy also made it a point to learn the song so we can practice at home. She is very supportive of me and I am thankful for that. I just wish my papa can see me performing on stage in May but since he is in Germany, he will have to wait for the video that mommy will be making.

I am just so excited... I can't wait for May to come so I can perform on stage and also come to my daddy in Germany!

Prinzessin Lilifee Musical

Hello everyone! Wow! It has been a while since I blogged in her. Sorry about that. Mommy was too busy to notice that I neede to blog too.

But anyway, so many things have happened in the last three months or so. And what do you know, in four months, I will turn four! I am growing up so fast, don't you all agree? I won't even allow my mommy and daddy to call me a baby anymore.

Proof that I have grown is the fact that I went with my Großtante Lolit and her husband to watch the musical, Prinzessin Lilifee last 20th November at the Liederhalle without my parents. Ain't it cool? And I really had a lot of fun. It wasn't boring at all since there were also other little girls like me sho went to see it. The theater hall was packed but I had lots of fun. I love ballet you see and the Prinzessin Lilifee characters as well. I just love it when they danced ballet and they also sang pop songs.

I don't mind watching this musical again... Perhaps next time, I'd get to watch other ballet musicals like the Swan Lake or the Holiday on Ice. With so many musical shows and performances just within our reach, I know another opportunity will come. I wonder who will treat me to one the next time around.... :)

Goodbye Diaper Rash

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

I generally do not have sensitive skin nor do I have skin problems, thanks to my Mommy who takes care of me and use only products that are recommended by pediatricians, tested by dermatologists and are non-allergenic. Of course, most children will at some point in their lives experience diaper rash. I know I suffered from diaper rash when I caught the stomach flu. It was really a discomfort on my part because I had to frequently poop. The more I poop, the more irritated my butt was. Then Mommy remembered about Boudreaux's Butt Paste, and she applied it on my bum. I liked the wonderful scent, and the fact that it did not sting. It even wiped off Mommy's hand easily!

I have heard lots of good things about Butt Paste. And it's packaging comes in varied sizes so that you can choose which size works for you: it can be in a canister so you have lots in stock at home or in flip top cap tubes for when you travel. The product was even featured on various TV Programs like the Oprah Show, People Magazine, Tonight Show, Today Show, ESPN, and While You Were Out TLC.

So for Mommies out there who are looking for an effective diaper rash care, why don't you try Butt Paste? My rear recommends it! And they have a FREE SAMPLE OFFER so if you want to receive one, go visit their site now!

A Room of My Own

I am currently co-bedding with my Mommy and Daddy. That means they share their bedroom with me. Although we do have an extra room here at home that is supposed to be my bedroom, it is currently being used as an "office" and playroom. There is still much to be done for it to look like a little girl's bedroom and if Mommy and I were to collaborate, I know we will just come up with a very nice design fitting for a little girl like me.

For a start, I would like to hang something unique on our white wall such as a name art, with my name spelled the way I want it to be: with lots of color and with pictures of my favorite animals too! Isn't animal art a fun way to learn about animals? And my Mommy and Daddy can teach me more than their names. I could learn how they sound like, what their behaviors are and why they look like that. This alphabet art is indeed a very interesting piece for a child's bedroom.

Next will be a bed, one that will grow up with me, which means that it can be adjusted and expanded when I become too big for the current setting. And I will need lots of storage containers too: for my toys, my coloring materials, my hair clips and ribbons and other stuff a growing little girl like me is interested in.

So what else do you think we should add?

Where Are My Books?

We moved into our new apartment early last month. You might wonder if we have already settled in or not. Well, there are still a lot of boxes that need to be unpacked and furniture that need to be purchased. My Mommy and Daddy are not in a hurry though. We are just taking things one step at a time, prioritizing things, purchasing what needs to be purchased first.

One of our first purchases are bookshelves. Mommy and Daddy need to organize their office stuff and important documents and they can't find their files easily if they are stored in boxes... therefore, the need for bookshelves.  We got them from Ikea and after Mommy assembled them, we went to work. I was also beginning to miss my books so that seeing them once again made me so happy. I even volunteered, er insisted, that I place my books on the bookshelves myself. I still may not be very good at arranging and organizing my stuff but I am getting there. With practice, I know I will get better at cleaning after my own mess, being able to help my Mommy along the way.

To Be Old and Independent

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

We have lots of friends here, who through the years are nursing and caring for sick and old people. And because we are of small built, I have seen how backbreaking work it could to take care of old patients. How they managed to do it, I still could not fathom, knowing that these friends too are now in their early 60's. Unbelievable isn't it? But true. Caregiving is tough work but with the assistance of associations like NMEDA, things can really get easier.

But what is NMEDA? It is a non-profit trade association that educates its consumers on buying from an NMEDA qualified dealer. It does not sell anything, but rather promotes safe driving and equipment for disabled people. And because no two disabilities are the same, each person may have varying needs for mobility and may need other product refinements. This is where NMEDA can help, through the dealers. They have what you call DEALERS, the people who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people, and the QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM (QAP) Dealers whose main objective is to consistently satisfy its customers using a systematic and documented approach to quality.

Assisting disabled patients to become more mobile will also bring back more independence into their lives, and reassure them that their disability is not a hindrance to doing the things that they want to do.

To find out if there is an NMEDA dealer near you, please visit nmeda.org, click on dealers locator and enter your ZIP code.

One Cold Day

I have been going to the Kindergarten for almost a month now and I can proudly say that I have made quite an achievement. I have learned how to place my name clip all by myself whenever we arrive at the Kindergarten. I now know the routine: After placing my name clip on the card, I would get off my jacket and outdoor shoes and wear my house shoes. And then the fun begins!

But wait, there's more! I don't cry anymore when Mommy leaves me with my teachers and the other kids. I can now say goodbye to her, give her a hug and a wet kiss without any signs of crying. And Mommy is very happy about it because it means that she doesn't have to go home worried or sad. Ain't I such a good girl?

But what's with the get-up? Hihi! It is still of course September here but the days are always unusually cold so that Mommy would dress me up with warm clothes. The hat and the gloves were my own doing though. It was just a spur of the moment decision and Mommy found me so cute and irresistible that she took this photo!

Looking Forward

So I am now on my second week at the Kindergarten. I did not do so well yesterday because I did not let go of my Mommy's hand when it was time for her to leave. Perhaps it was because I felt it was my first day again with the two days break I had from going to the Kindergarten. It was after all the weekend last Saturday and Sunday. So Mommy stayed with me until 11:00 AM when Yvonne called it a day and asked Mommy that we try again today at the same time. Today was better though because Mommy managed to leave without me whining and looking for her when I realized that she has already left. I still did not eat lunch with the other kids though. And did not drink anything at all.

The days here are getting colder but the other kids are yet to arrive from their summer vacations. Soon, the Kindergarten will be packed with kids and I just hope that I will have already adjusted by then because I know Yvonne won't be able to give me her 100% attention.

I am looking forward to the activities that the Kindergarten has set for us though. I know that most kindergartens have what they call the Fasching Festival, a carnival that takes place the Thursday before Ash Wednesday, where both children and adults can wear a costume of their choice. I know that I will be seeing lots of different costumes, from fairy tales to horrifying scenes to superheros. Some would even wear Special Effects Contacts for that impressively real look. Then of course there is Easter, where we will be making easter eggs and do egg hunting, Halloween where we go trick-or-treating and wear all sorts of costumes too, and the Christmas season where Christmas markets come to life. There's also the small field trips too where we will be visiting zoos, parks, small forests and children's museums.

Oh yes, I just know that lots of exciting things are going to happen now that I am attending Kindergarten.

Kindergarten Tales

I am now officially in Kindergarten. I have been since Monday and I can say that I truly enjoyed it! I am glad Mommy and Daddy finally found a place for me to interact with other kids. My teacher (they are called Bezugserzieherin here in Germany), Yvonne, is a very kind woman and she made sure that I am able to adapt well in my new environment during my one week Eingewohnung or adjustment period.

This is me with Yvonne, my teacher. See, we are very close already! Hihi!

Mommy was with her on the first day to be with me as I went around the Kindergarten and got myself familiar with the rooms, stuffs to do and the other kids. Then on the second day, Mommy just gave me to Yvonne (we are staying on the second floor of the building) and she went downstairs to wait at the parent's corner just in case I will look for her. Even my grandparents were there too! Wednesday came and I was doing fantastic! Yvonne told my Mom that I can stay for lunch the next day and that she can leave and come back for me at 1 o' clock. Thursday came and everything turned out well. Except of course, I didn't eat lunch as Yvonne hoped because we don't eat typical German food. When my Mom fetched me after lunch time, Yvonne told her that I come earlier so that I can also see and join the other kids for breakfast.

Let's just see what happens today. But so far, I think I am doing great. Except from the fact that I cannot speak well yet and that I don't eat, everything else is great. I am adjusting well and I didn't even cry!

Goodbye Diaper Rash

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

Diaper rash is irritating and annoying to babies and little ones still on diaper because it is makes them feel uncomfortable. I luckily do not have a very sensitive skin but I also have had my share of diaper rash especially when I got sick with stomach flu. I had bouts of loose bowel movement which meant my Mommy had to constantly clean my butt and this somehow irritated my skin. I was crying because of the pain and I felt relieved when she rubbed zinc cream on my skin. After a few moments, my diaper rash was gone. It was like magic.

Have you ever heard about Boudreaux's Butt Paste? That is just how it works. It is especially formulated to treat diaper rash and soothe irritated skin and best of all, it is recommended by Pediatricians. It is very handy for it comes in a flip cap tube and in various sizes of 1oz, 2oz, 3oz and 4oz tubes, 16oz jar. So if you travel frequently, it can fit into any pocket in a baby bag. It is easy to apply and it washes off easily too. And if you are a couch potato, you must have already seen this product featured on popular shows like the Oprah Show, Tonight Show, Today Show, People Magazine, ESPN and While You Were Out TLC.

Interested? You can receive your own FREE sample of Boudreaux's Butt Paste by visiting their website. Just give it a try and you can finally say, "Goodbye, diaper rash!"

I (Heart) Milk!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

Milk is essential in any baby's or child's growth because it is packed with the essential nutrients that aid in the development of the brain, strengthen the immune system and help development the bones, muscles and eyes. My Mommy always sees to it that I get my daily dose of milk so that I will remain healthy and strong and have the resistance against sickness. Although breast milk is important in the early development of infants, some mothers are not able to nurse their babies because they do not have breast milk. It's a good thing that there are now infant formulas available in the market that contain the nutrients found in breast milk so that infants still get the essential nutrients one finds in breast milk.

Bright_beginnings_1

If you are looking for infant formula that contains all the essential nutrients found in breast milk, then check out the Bright Beginnings Infant Formula with Iron. It's also got a new can design that I find very attractive and very informative. All you need to know about the milk formula and the nutritional information are well written and very easy to locate with the new can design. And one cannot miss the colorful BRIGHT BEGINNINGS brand.

This milk formula for babies is also very affordable and you can get great savings too if you purchase from diapers.com. Yes, you heard me right: Bright Beginnings available at diapers.com. If you are a first time customer, you get $5 off any (1) diapers or formula product (use code: NEW5). Additionally, you can get  $10 off almost anything else (use code: 10PERCENT). Great deal isn't it?

Now who says that milk is expensive? With this kind of deal, you can definitely say: I (heart) Milk!

Storytelling Time

I think you already know that I love to read. Mommy has bought lots of English books and then some German children's books so that I will know how something is called in English and in German. I know that a book is called a book and that it contains lots of photos of animals, numbers and letters. I have books that make sounds too and also a pop up book.

You might ask me if I can already read. My answer would be not yet but I can recognize images from the books and would point at them and tell Mommy what they are. Sometimes, I would pretend to tell stories and would just mumble away with my not so sensible words. It was one of those instances when I was unknowingly caught by my Mommy on video and so I am sharing it with you here. I guess what you will only grasp in the video is the word elefatie, that is how I pronounce the word elephant.

Can you guess what book I am reading here? It's a book about animals at different places. Mommy taught me the song Old MacDonald Had A Farm and each time I see this book and my Old MacDonald Had A Farm book, I would instantly hum the tunes and then sing the words "Ei, Ei, O" when I get to the chorus. I know how an animal sounds like too but Mommy hasn't caught me on video on that one yet. Will post about that one when Mommy gets the chance.

I Am A Filipino!

I may be born in Japan and spending my toddler years here in Germany but I am a true-blooded Pinoy! I can speak a few Visayan words: kaon, lola, lolo, baho. I eat Filipino food (although I don't like to eat rice anymore). I even love to wear my Filipiniana dress!

This is me.. playing dress up again! I just love this dress!

Please excuse the mess! Mommy hasn't cleaned up the mess that I made again!

Why do I even have one? My Tita Cha bought me one when she went to visit the Philippines so that I could also wear something Filipino for the Sinulog Festival which was held last February. My other friends have a dance number called Magtanim Ay Di Biro and even though I cannot dance with a choreography yet, they still let me on the stage.

My Mommy and Me after our presentations at the Sinulog Festival.

I had a blast at the festival although I had no idea what I was doing onstage! LOL!

The Baby Is Now A Lady

I am turning two in almost two weeks. I had my vaccination and medical check-up last Wednesday. Physical indicators that I have grown since my last birthday are my height and weight. I am now 90cm tall and 12.55 kilos.. No wonder Mommy and everyone else keep complaining that I am too heavy! Although I can't communicate well yet, maybe because of the different languages I am exposed to namely German, English, Tagalog and Bisaya, it is indeed confusing for a toddler to handle! Hihi! Just wait till I can talk! :D

Here's a couple of my latest photos. I was all dressed up here because we were going to the Mall. I guess this was taken on a Thursday afternoon. I have grown so much, right?

Munching Choco Krispies while watching my favorite cartoon.

Posing like a model??? Nah! I was busy watching the TV
and Mommy was blocking my view!

And yes, it is almost Valentine's Day and I wish that everyone feels the LOVE! I hope that you spend it with your loved ones: your family, siblings, friends, lover, pets, cousins, or whoever it is who makes you happy and feel special. As for me, I will of course be spending it with my Mommy and Daddy.

Enjoy the special weekend everyone! Happy Valentine's Day and for the Chinese, Gong Xi Fa Coi!
