Meet My New Cousin!

I just heard some really great news from our family in the Philippines. Mommy's younger brother's wife just gave birth to a little girl they named Marianna Nicole. She came out a little late, at 42 weeks but I am happy that she is now out in the real world. She is such an angel isn't she? According to my Mommytita Rose, she loves to sleep a lot.

I know that Kuya Miggy will look after you little Nicole. You are lucky to have him by your side as you grow up because you have an instant bodyguard and protector. I know that he will adore you and take care of you as if you are his own little sister. I look forward to the day when I too can also meet you. I know that we will become really good friends and great cousins, just you wait and see! I hope your Mommy and Daddy and Mommytita Rose will post more photos of you on Facebook so that I can also see you grow.

I pray that you will always be a healthy baby Nicole. May your guardian angel watch over you always. Know that many people love you so much, including me! Welcome to the family!

What Shall I Give You This Christmas?

Christmas is just around the corner. I know my Mommy already has her Christmas list. I wonder what she will give me? But I too would like to give her something this Christmas. I don't know yet what to give her but I want to give her something that she will appreciate and use.

I am thinking of giving her Murano glass jewelry. Although she is not so keen on wearing jewelry, she certainly could use one for those LBD (little black dress) days. I remember that she used to wear a gold necklace with a very tiny heart pendant. But she lost it somehow and now, she no longer has a necklace. I want to give her something that she could wear on her neck again. I know it's not much but I think she will love Murano pendants. She likes handmade products you see because no two products are the same.  Or I could give her household items made of the same material such as these tumblers. They look so colorful and will add life to any dining table!

I know that she will love it because she didn't get to buy that many murano glass souvenirs when we went there for a vacation two summers ago. But whatever it is that I give my Mommy this Christmas, even if it is just a simple kiss and "I love you", I know that it will make her happy.

Where Are My Books?

We moved into our new apartment early last month. You might wonder if we have already settled in or not. Well, there are still a lot of boxes that need to be unpacked and furniture that need to be purchased. My Mommy and Daddy are not in a hurry though. We are just taking things one step at a time, prioritizing things, purchasing what needs to be purchased first.

One of our first purchases are bookshelves. Mommy and Daddy need to organize their office stuff and important documents and they can't find their files easily if they are stored in boxes... therefore, the need for bookshelves.  We got them from Ikea and after Mommy assembled them, we went to work. I was also beginning to miss my books so that seeing them once again made me so happy. I even volunteered, er insisted, that I place my books on the bookshelves myself. I still may not be very good at arranging and organizing my stuff but I am getting there. With practice, I know I will get better at cleaning after my own mess, being able to help my Mommy along the way.

Fun At The Laternenfest

I had a blast at the Laternenfest last Tuesday evening at my Kindergarten. It was so exciting because it was my first time to join a big event in the Kindergarten. It was the lantern festival and here in Germany, it is celebrated around this time of the year in remembrance of St. Martin and his generous deed.

Many little children like me look forward to this festival because we get to see lots of wonderful handmade lanterns all being lit up in the evening. I had a lot of fun and I was so happy because both my Mommy and Daddy were there. Even Tita Cha, a good friend of ours, came and brought her lantern with her.

We had a small procession around the neighborhood where the Kindergarten was located. We sang songs while walking and then made a few stops along the way. It was a cold evening but we didn't seem to mind. The little heat from our lanterns and the singing and the laughter I shared with my friends were enough to keep us going. Some children lost their lanterns because they caught fire and they cried. I am glad mine didn't go into flames, thanks to Mommy who made sure that I was holding it properly.

I can't wait for the next year's lantern festival. I know that Mommy knows better what to do next time with my lantern so that she wouldn't have to worry to much about me or my lantern getting burned.
