Do You Know Emily Erdbeer?

My newest favorite cartoon series? The all new Emily Erdbeer or Strawberry Shortcake in English. I would always say "erdbeer" to my Mommy if I want to watch this one. The characters are just so cute and I find Erdbeerland or Berry Bitty City very colorful.

In case you don't know how they are named in German, here they are:

emily erdbeer
Emily Erdbeer (Strawberry Shortcake)

orangela obstblüte
 Orangella Obstblüte (Orange Blossom)

Bonni Blaubeer
 Bonni Blaubeer (Blueberry Muffin)

Himbeertörtchen
 Himbeertörtchen (Raspberry Torte)

Pfläumeli Creme
Pfläumeli Creme (Plum Pudding)

Zitronella Baiser
Zitronella Baiser (Lemon Meringue)

Aren't they just cute? I just love them and I always look forward to watching the next episode which will be shown on Nick Jr. on July 17th at 7:45AM. I hope Mommy doesn't forget to record it. So I get to watch another new episode.

How about you? Do you like Strawberry Shortcake too? Who is your favorite character?

I Am Dora

Ever since I discovered Dora, I would repeatedly ask my Mommy to play the recorded series of Dora the Explorer on our TV. This cartoon series from Nick Jr. is just a delightful way to learn numbers, colors and songs and follow simple directions. And because the German language is a little bit complicated because the different nouns have a gender (feminine, masculine, neutral) Mommy also enjoys watching it with me because she also learns German.

I really love watching Dora, Boots and Backpack as they go on an adventure, following Map's directions. Usually there are three places that they would need to go to and I really enjoy it when they sing songs together and when they are able to stop Swiper from swiping things that Dora needs to complete her "mission". I love hearing Swiper say "Ah, mano!" that I would repeat what he says and would also say, "Ah, manu!", with matching pouting lips.

Anyway, you must have already known that my Lola (grandmother) and Lolo (grandfather) are already here with us. They arrived last Thursday. My Lola bought me lots of clothes, including a Dora blouse and short terno which I instantly loved and three Dora dakki pillows from my Mama and Mommytita (Mommy's mother and sister respectively), which are equally beautiful! I particularly love the pencil-shaped Dora pillow. All the pillows are just so soft and cuddly. Thank you Lola, Mama and Mommytita for the gifts! I love them all!

So, do I look like Dora the Explorer now? Hihi!

Timmy, Das Schäfchen

This is my latest cartoon craze:
Timmy, das Shäfchen
. In English, it's called Timmy Time.

He's making my Mommy crazy too because I keep requesting her to play the intro video on YouTube. If I want to watch this show, which is almost like the entire day, I would simply say first: "Sheshen" (Schäfchen means little lamb). If she would pretend that I didn't hear her or she is busy working on her eLance projects, I would drag her hand and yell, "Timmy! Timmy!". You know me, I always get what I want. Hihi! It's shown here in Germany on Super RTL but it airs too early for me. Showing time is at 6:30 - 7:00 AM, with 3 episodes per day.

Mommy has found a solution for this though. She has actually managed to program our media receiver to automatically record this series so that I am expecting to be able to watch Timmy when I wake up. Hihi!

If you have no idea what I am talking about, I have embedded the intro parts of the show, both in English and German. Luckily, it's on HD! Come, sing along with me!

Isn't Timmy das Schäfchen just adorable? The characters help toddlers like me to make animal sounds and associate it with an animal too because the characters "speak" with their own language... So Timmy says "baa, baa, baa" each time he wants to say something, Teacher Owl says, "hoot, hoot, hoot", etc. Cute eh!? No wonder I am loving this show!
